About

The site is an informal display of research and teaching proposals and topics led by faculty Carla Leitao from the RPI School of Architecture at the CRAIVE Lab.
The CRAIVE Lab has been a host and trigger for architecture research projects into Virtual, Interactive and Immersive Space and Architecture, Environment Design, Information Visualization, Narrative and ‘Ambiance’.
This site was created and is maintained by Carla Leitao.

Along this research, tools have been developed towards magnifying the interactive space abilities of the CRAIVE Lab space. This tools have been shared with students through lectures/tutorials held at the CRAIVE Lab. As well, there is an ongoing document that synthesizes the articulations of the tools ecosystems for future use in the space.

Please visit RESOURCES to get access to some of these tools, or contact

The CRAIVE Lab (Collaborative-Research Augmented Immersive Virtual Environment) is a project of the Cognitive and Immersive Systems Lab (CISL) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, under the direction of Prof. Jonas Braasch, and made possible by funding from the National Science Foundation. The Lab hosts research from different departments at RPI.

The CRAIVE Lab allows experimentation of Architecture inquiries and where they intersect those of Media concepts. Particularly, the ways in which design methods concentrate on the projective potential of analytical approaches.
